On newer, high efficiency EVGA PSUs, you can turn on ECO mode which will stop the fans until the PSU hits a certain temp or sustained load. I have a 750w G2 Gold that won't kick on fans until sustained load of 400w+ or so. My 6700K (stock speed) and factory overclocked 1070 running at 100% don't trigger it.I purchased a p2 850 watt a short while back, but only completed my build a week ago or so. To my dismay, the eco mode has been bothersome. After about 20 minutes or so, the psu's fan will start spinning up for only 10-15 seconds every 5 ish mins, all while under idle or light web browsing usage < 20% cpu and gpu at most (1700x and 1070 ti).I have an EVGA 750W G2 that's serving me quite well. It has a toggle for eco mode on or off. With eco mode on, The fan doesn't spin until it hits a certain load or temperature. Off, it spins at 700rpm and ramps up from there. But at 700rpm it makes a certain click noise that bothers me. So I keep the eco fan mode on.
